The digital integrating board (DIB) converts digital LVDS inputs into the IEC 61850 data that enters the Ethernet using the IEC 62439-3 (Parallel Redundancy Protocol or High Availability Seamless Redundancy Protocol).
The data are shown as sample values (SV) according to IEC 61850-9-2LE. The data then can be directly used by measurement controllers and/or protection devices that support the protocol.
Time synchronization is done through the IEC 61588 PTP or 1PPS signal. Both provide for accuracy required for publication of sample values according to 61850-9-2LE.
The DIB has been tested as part of a merging unit to receive and digitize signals from an optical current and voltage transformer. The DIB can be easily integrated in any other electronic devices supporting IEC 61850.
